SDSU Aerospace Engineering's Web Migration

Design Overview

Problem: The campus’s original Aerospace Engineering website was outdated and several features were inaccessible. This disabled visitors to get the information they need on the department.

Solution: I led the web migration of the Aerospace Engineering website onto the newer OmniCMS Crimson Template. With the Aerospace Engineering Department as my client, I ensured the website redesign accounted for all types of web audiences (prospective students, faculty/staff, and community members).

Design Process

1) Production Sheet

Through extensive meetings with the Aerospace Engineering Department, I mapped out all the main sections and landing pages of the website.

2) OmniCMS Crimson Template

My main challenge was to maintain the university’s aesthetic while uniquely branding the Aerospace Engineering Department. I showcased front-end development skills by strategically utilizing widgets in order to dissect the contents in attractive and user-friendly ways.

3) Final Application

Voilà! After various revision cycles, the final product of the web page has been published publicly and can be accessed here.
